Three overs – that was exactly the duration for which India dominated the second ODI against Sri Lanka at Hambantota. Their performance was in stark contrast to the first one-dayer that was played on Saturday.

Sri Lanka completed an easy 9-wicket win to level the ODI Series 1-1 before leaving to Colombo. India couldn’t put up any sort of fight with the ball as the Lankans eased to the target of 139 in just 19.5 overs without playing any real big shots.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 21 runs in the opening ODI at Hambantota. Irfan Pathan and R Ashwin played a key role for India taking two wickets each and keeping the scoring under a check.

Another Indian tour of Sri Lanka is all set to get underway. And, like always, there is hardly anything to pick between the two teams. India and Sri Lanka have played each other so often in the last couple of years that the players from the two teams know each other inside out.

Sri Lanka won their first Test series since 2009, and also their first since the retirement of the legendary Muttiah Muralitharan following the much expected draw at Pallekele, with rain playing spoilsport again.

Sri Lanka are in the driver’s seat in the Pallekele Test thanks to a heroic knock from Thisara Perera followed up by an early Pakistani wicket. By the close of play on Day 3, Pakistan are 27 for 1 in 6 overs having conceded a first innings lead of 111 runs.

Pakistan hold a definite advantage in the Pallekele Test after reducing Sri Lanka to 44 for 3 by the close of Day 1. It was a strong fightback from the Pakistanis led by left arm quick Junaid Khan after the visitors were bundled out for 226.

Thisara Perera clinched a magical hat-trick as Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 44 runs in the Fourth ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. With this victory, Sri Lanka lead the 5-match Series 2-1.

Thisara Perera produced outstanding figures of 6 for 44 to bowl Sri Lanka to a massive 76-run win in the Second ODI at Pallekele. The visitors suffered this huge defeat despite opener Azhar Ali scoring a neat looking 96 (from 119 balls with 12 fours). The rest of the Pakistani batsmen failed to stand up to the challenge though and wasting Azhar’s efforts.
